Planning and Scheduling Coordinator

Salary: £28,000–£30,000 per annum

Fire Door Inspection Solutions (FDIS), part of the IDSL Group, is looking for a Planning Coordinator to join our fast-growing Operations team.

This is a newly created role, giving you the opportunity to take real ownership of the planning function and help shape how larger projects are coordinated as the business continues to grow.

Based within a busy, vibrant office environment, you’ll work closely with our Project Managers, joiners, operational teams and customers to make sure projects are fully planned, properly resourced and ready to deliver from day one.

You’ll be responsible for coordinating joiners across larger fire door and passive fire protection projects, ensuring the right people, materials, access and programme requirements are in place.

The ISDL Group also manufactures its fire doors in-house, giving the business greater control over quality, supply and project delivery, and giving you the opportunity to work closely with both operational and manufacturing teams.

You’ll act as a key link between our internal teams and customers, keeping projects organised, communication clear and works progressing smoothly from initial planning through to completion.

What you’ll be doing

• Planning and scheduling joiners and Project Managers across larger fire door and passive fire protection projects

• Creating jobs on FDK360 following site surveys and ensuring all job information is accurate and up to date

• Coordinating works from initial job creation through to completion

• Ensuring the right joiners and Project Managers are allocated based on location, skills and project requirements

• Making sure everything is in place before works begin, including labour, materials, access and programme requirements

• Liaising directly with joiners and Project Managers to coordinate jobs, schedules and site requirements

• Liaising with customers to agree programme dates, scheduled works and delivery requirements

• Keeping customers updated on progress, changes, scheduled works or potential delays

• Ensuring jobs are correctly updated and completed on the system

• Completing accurate data entry and maintaining job and customer information

• Working closely with Operations teams to keep projects running smoothly

• Maintaining forward planning schedules and identifying upcoming resource requirements

• Reviewing workloads and adjusting plans where priorities change

• Helping to reduce unnecessary travel, downtime and operational delays

• Supporting reporting and continuous improvement across the planning function

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in planning, scheduling, coordination or resource management

• Experience coordinating engineers, operatives or field-based teams

• Knowledge of the fire door / passive fire protection industry

• Strong organisation and communication skills

• Confident liaising directly with customers

• Ability to manage multiple projects and changing priorities

• Good Microsoft Excel skills

• Experience with planning, scheduling or ERP systems would be advantageous
